2026 Summer Workshops & Classes
From beginner to advanced, our workshops are fantastic ways to learn something new or increase your skills in a creative, friendly environment with talented instructors. We are excited to offer a schedule of workshops in Hartford and Manchester this year, including sewing, basket weaving, floor loom and rigid heddle weaving! The schedule below is organized by month. Click on the link below each workshop to read the full description and register. Proceeds from our classes support our artisan program which teaches weaving to people who are visually impaired or blind as well as people 55 years and older.
All registration is through this website — we do not accept mailed-in registrations or advance registration by phone. All of our workshops are suitable for people 16 and older. Note: All classes and workshops in Hartford and Manchester are only accessible by stairs.

Hartford: Rigid Heddle / Beginner — 2 Session Class
Skill Level: Beginner — perfect if you have never woven before.

Beginner Basket Weaving / Hartford: SOLD OUT
Virtual: Floor Loom / Overshot Fundamentals & Beyond — 4 Session Weave-Along
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced. Designed for participants with prior experience weaving on a 4-shaft floor or table loom. Participants must be comfortable reading a weaving draft and with all aspects of preparing a warp and loom for weaving. A 4-shaft table or floor loom at home is required.

Manchester: Floor Loom / Beyond Beginner, Profile Draft and Structure — 5 Day Round Robin Workshop
Skill Level: Completion of at least a beginner floor loom class. Also great for experienced weavers who would like to explore structures and create samples for their own reference.

Hartford: Floor Loom / A Little Something Extra — Supplementary Warps and Wefts, 3 Day Round Robin Workshop
Skill Level: Advanced beginner to Advanced floor loom weavers who would like to create a series of samples through the exploration of this structure.

Registration Information & Refund Policy
- Physical requirements: Good manual dexterity is a necessity. Shoulder, elbow, and wrist movement are needed to wind a warp and dress a loom; floor loom weaving requires hip, knee, and foot movement. Weaving involves repetitive motion; students may take breaks as needed.
- Accessibility: Our classrooms and studios are currently only accessible by a flight of stairs.
- Class cancellations by the Weaving Center: The Weaving Center reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment — registered students will receive a full refund. For active classes cancelled due to weather or instructor illness, a make-up time will be scheduled.

Student cancellations: Please notify the Weaving Center as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration.
- If there is a waiting list and the spot can be filled: a 3% processing fee will be deducted from the refund if you paid by credit card. If you paid by check and the spot is filled, you will receive a full refund.
- If a spot cannot be filled, no refund will be offered. This includes absences due to unexpected events or personal circumstances such as illness. Please contact us if supplies are included as part of your registration fee.
- We do not offer credit toward another class.
- No-shows forfeit any refund. Make-up classes (for reasons other than weather-related cancellations or instructor illness) are not offered.
